If you want to wash your car, yes! Many pressure
washers that are relatively inexpensive to buy from
hardware stores or even your local supermarket boast
high pressure output and may even come with a
range of nozzles intended for use in cleaning floor
surfaces, however these generally rely on the same
sort of motor as an electric drill or vacuum cleaner for
power. There is a limit as to how much can be
achieved with this kind of machine, especially in
driving a high pressure pump. Although the pressure
may be high, it is not possible to pump a large volume
of water at the same time. The end result is enough
pressure to clean, but only in a very small area. Hence
this will only yield a satisfying result if the equipment
is very slowly and methodically moved across the
whole area to be cleaned in a robotic manner.
Are DIY pressure washers any good?
Even with high pressure ratings and special
attachments, DIY pressure washers lack the
needed power for a uniform deep clean
Only with commercial grade pressure cleaning equipment is
deep cleaning of your patio or driveway an attainable goal
In practise, it is rarely possible to do a
thorough job using such devices, and
while it may sometimes look okay on
the day, before long lines often appear
testifying to the fact that only a fraction
of the surface actually benefitted from
the maximum pressure jet. Because of
the expense involved in purchasing
commercial grade pressure cleaning
equipment and the tiring task of
struggling with a machine that isn’t
really up to the job, many people find
the price to have it cleaned by a
professional, who has not only the right
equipment, but also the experience
required to do a good job, is in fact the
safer bet.
